Wyong Trade School offers students the opportunity to enter a school based apprenticeship or traineeship. Students complete the HSC as well as a Certificate II or III in their chosen specialisation and are employed in the field. We specialise in electrotechnology, automotive, health services, real estate and hospitality, but others areas may be available.

Wyong Trade School Case Study - Larissa Vine

My name is Larissa and I am a year 12 Trade School student at Wyong High School. For of my HSC I study English, Maths, Information Technology and Industry Based Learning as well as my Certificate III in Aged Care at TAFE. Along with all the study I do I also go to work at Yallambee Leisure Living Aged Care Facility in West Gosford, where the things I learn at TAFE are put to the test.  At work I also gain experience and knowledge such as communication skills, time management, working in a team environment as well as being able to establish a relationship with both staff and residents. All of that will benefit me and my life ahead.  I will admit it hasn't been easy but it has been enjoyable and worthwhile. Doing this helps me personally to get a head start into further study such as university or more TAFE courses. I am proud to be a Wyong Trade School student and encourage anyone wishing to jump into a career whilst still at school to join one of the areas of work available.
